1. Be respectful. Everyone has a right to an opinion. Whether you agree with others' opinions or not, we ask that you respect their right to have an opinion, just as they should respect yours. Treat others as you wish to be treated. Be civil and mindful that this is a family forum. 2. Do not present opinions as facts. Posters should clearly understand the difference between fact and opinion and should be especially careful to never present opinion, rumor, speculation or innuendo as fact. If you are posting facts, check them with multiple sources such as www.factcheck.org or www.snopes.com before posting. Please use the most up-to-date resources you can find. Remember: While it's easy to get your facts wrong, there's no such thing as a wrong opinion. Every poster on WiregrassLive.com is to be considered a "publisher" of their own opinion or information, as per Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1996. WiregrassLive.com, its owners and moderators are not responsible for the content, opinions or posts of its members. 3. No flaming, personal attacks, baiting, spamming, or being a troll. This pertains to both topics and posts. A. Flaming is the act of posting messages that are deliberately hostile or insulting. These types of posts-whether they are blatantly offensive or subtle and indirect--are absolutely not allowed and will result in the immediate revocation of forum posting privileges. B. Personal attacks of any kind are strictly forbidden. Many WiregrassLive.com visitors feel that "the nature of politics" gives them permission to direct personal attacks at someone with a different political view. That's not the case in WiregrassLive.com. Passionate political debate is fine, but taunting, slandering, or insulting a specific member is prohibited. C. Don't bait other WiregrassLive.com visitors. Many WiregrassLive.com posters freely admit to posting controversial threads for the sole purpose of "stirring the pot" with a particular poster or group of posters "on the other side." This is a close cousin to trolling and flaming (see above) and is strictly prohibited. D. WiregrassLive.com takes great pride in our community. We work hard to provide you and our advertisers a safe, free, enjoyable forum. Discussion of, or links to competing forums or message boards is not permitted. Repeated posting of a message (or very similar messages) multiple times is considered spamming and is prohibited. When making a post, please post it ONCE. Multiple posts will be locked or deleted, and continued abuse of this guideline may result in having your posting privileges revoked. E. Trolls are individuals who post rude or offensive messages for the purpose of disrupting a discussion or to upset other forum participants. Trolls of every stripe, type, and political persuasion, will have their posts deleted and may be banned from participating in the forums. F. Due to the deeply devisive nature of religious beliefs, WiregrassLive does not host religious-based debate between followers and non-followers of religious doctrine. 4. No profanity. Our forums have an automated profanity filter to block out inappropriate language. Do not circumvent it by finding colorful ways to approximate or disguise those words. Those caught trying to bypass the filters in any way may have their posting privileges revoked. Using derogatory slang terms or social, racial, ethnic or sexual identifiers which have a hurtful or demeaning intent are not tolerated. 5. Stay on topic. If you have a suggestion or comment that is on a different topic, please start a new thread. Each of the WiregrassLive.com forums focuses on a specific area of the Wiregrass or topic. Please look the choices over before posting on the wrong boards. We've tried to make the separate areas within WiregrassLive.com as useful as possible. If you're posting information about Ozark, please place it in the Ozark forum. When you're requesting information about Enterprise, check the Enterprise forum first, and post your request there. If the information pertains to the entire Wiregrass area or it's off topic, place it in the Wiregrass forum. It makes it much easier for everyone to find what they're looking for when the boards stay on topic. Moderators can and will split threads, move threads, and prune posts when necessary. 6. Classified Advertising. Classified Ads are available free to WiregrassLive.com members in our Classified forum. Contact regarding the goods, services, or inquiry is by Private Message (PM) only. Please don't include your email address or phone number in your ad. Should you do so, they will be removed. 7. Multiple threads about the same topic will be consolidated, deleted or locked. Please scan the first few pages of the forum or use the search box available at the top of every page before posting. 8. Disagree with a Moderator? WiregrassLive.com has a wonderful group of Moderators who volunteer to assist our visitors and members, and monitor the boards. Part of their responsibilities is ensuring that our guidelines are followed which may require that a thread or post is edited, deleted, closed or moved. When these decisions impact you, we ask that you respect them. Should you have any questions, please direct them to info@wiregrasslive.com. Attempting to stir up a public outcry within the WiregrassLive.com Community is disruptive, and such threads and posts are subject to immediate locking or deletion. 9. Freedom of speech. Freedom of speech, as granted by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, is frequently invoked by WiregrassLive.com posters who feel they should be able to say whatever they like without moderation. WiregrassLive.com is a moderated forum with guidelines and rules for posting content. Understand that the words you choose to use are YOUR words, and you are the publisher of the content. With each right comes responsibility. We ask all WiregrassLive.com visitors to embrace the responsibilities of being an active member of WiregrassLive.com by adhering to the above WiregrassLive.com Guidelines, and the basic tenets of civility and community. Finally, membership and posting privileges are available FREE. Registering to become a member of WiregrassLive.com, requires members to agree to abide by all WiregrassLive.com Guidelines. WiregrassLive.com Forum Moderators reserve the right to edit, move, lock, or delete any message(s) that we deem to be inappropriate or disruptive to WiregrassLive.com or ban any member or their IP address at our sole discretion.
