Sometimes there are things that you would just rather not get into but feel compelled for what you believe to be the betterment of the community.  No I'm not talking about Country Crossing but I am talking about an issue that could create a negative perception relative to Country Crossing.  I am talking about adult entertainment, topless dancing, bikini bars, whatever the latest nomenclature might be.  Let me explain.

The Truth, the Whole Truth, and Nothing But the Truth

Over the last two weeks, inflammatory articles and editorials have appeared in various news sources across the State that based their reporting on an April 26th Birmingham News article, attacking Attorney General Troy King, the Houston County Commission and the process that took place in early 2008 relative to the Country Crossing Development in Houston County and an Attorney General Opinion request.  Much of the information stated in the article and later in a News editorial was misleading at best and completely inaccurate in its worst case.  It is remarkable to me that a quality news source like the Birmingham News, though 200 miles away, would write such a story without contacting anyone directly involved with the process, according to the article, other than the Sheriff who was misquoted.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

For the past few days, I have been confined to my house and to my chagrin, most of the time to my bed.  Nothing serious, just a little work that sometimes happens when you get older and lift more than you should.  God, I hate to admit that!  Anyway, it has given me time to reflect, observe and think about things that you may not notice unless you slow down, whether by choice or not.  I thought I would put some of these things on paper and provide a blog or two over the next few days.

The first is flood related and called "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly".  The past two weeks have been a rollercoaster ride for me and many of you as we experienced some of the worst that Mother Nature can provide.  It always makes me realize how little control over things we really have.
