We all know that Dothan City Schools has been hit with severe budget cuts that have affected everything from teacher units (student to teacher ratio in the classrooms) to paper supplies.  When word came down of this year's financial limitations Deborah Hinson, Shelly Brady, April Harris and Marty Renojo got busy planning a fundraiser to supplement the teacher allotments (which truthfully don't cover much) for classroom supplies.

My daughter and I drove out to Landmark Park this afternoon to get a taste of what life in Dothan, Alabama would have been like 100 years ago.  The weather could not have been more accommodating, sunny skies with a gentle breeze.  The first sounds that caught my attention were a mixture of giggling coming from the playground and the lively notes of fiddles, guitars, and banjos dancing in the air.  It was a beautiful day.
